Fleece Performance’s patented L5P Fuel Filter Upgrade Kit delivers a seamless conversion from the factory cartridge‑style filter to a high‑capacity spin‑on canister filter, giving your Duramax improved filtration, longer service intervals, and expanded filter options. The anodized billet aluminum filter base is engineered to maintain the correct fuel flow path across the PTC heating element, ensuring optimal cold‑weather performance, and installs in the same location as the OEM base using quick‑disconnect fittings for a clean, OE‑quality fit and finish. This upgrade not only enhances filtration efficiency but also provides a more service‑friendly design with robust construction built for long‑term reliability. Each kit includes a Donaldson 4‑micron fuel filter and water separator (P553203), an integral‑mount filter base, a distribution filter block/filter coupler, quick‑disconnect fittings, and a 1/8" NPT port for convenient fuel‑pressure monitoring.
